Abstract
Defamation is a moral and quranic term.Defamation and calumny literally means imputation lie to other people that causes bewilderment and hurt, or imputation somelie work to other who refuse it. Quran blames this vice in several verses then indicates some instances such as defamation of Allah, divine prophets, scriptures, angels, marry, great religious figures and believers.Defamation and calumny are analyzed in this research according to verses of Quran, the view of majority of commentators (general and specific), philologists and view point of moral scholars.
