Abstract
Despite the numerous researches conducted on the topic of women in the Quran, various challenges and questions in this field remain unanswered. The common trend in research is comparative analysis or a focus on a single aspect of the issue. The present study, using thematic content analysis and library research, comprehensively studies and analyzes the Quranic verses on the topic of women. The existence of an expressive connection between the verses showed that the verses concerning women can be considered as a single coherent text. The expressive axes of the verses were extracted under the categories of form, subject, indicator, obligation (taklif), and criterion of expression, and consequently, the model of the expressive system governing the verses in question was delineated. Furthermore, the present research demonstrates the coherence and semantic connection between verses that are located separately in different surahs. The results of this study can serve as a prelude for metatextual analyses and new discourse analysis on the topic of women.
