This article examines the existence of an intermediate group between the people of felicity (sa'adah) and misery (shaqawah) in the Hereafter and its connection to worldly life. A group of people, who are neither among the people of felicity nor misery, find themselves in an intermediate status, and their position is shaped by factors such as social conditions, beliefs, and their actions in the world. This research can contribute to refining beliefs, achieving a better understanding of the afterlife, and its impact on behavior. The present study employs the library research method and an analytical-interpretive problem-solving method, based on which the intermediate group includes the mustad'afun (the oppressed or weak ones), those deprived of the truth, those entrusted to God's will, the misguided, a group of the people of A'raf (the Heights), and virtuous non-believers. For reasons such as inability to attain faith or perform righteous deeds, or the equality of their good and bad deeds, although they are safe from the punishment of Hell, they are also deprived of the blessings of Paradise due to lack of faith or sufficient deeds. Worldly life does not determine their afterlife destiny directly, but rather through its influence on their beliefs and actions. The intermediary status in the Hereafter has a generative (takwini) and direct relationship with the faith and actions of individuals in the world, and an indirect relationship with their worldly condition. The sustenance of this group of people is provided by divine will (mashiyyah), which has a conventional (qarari/contractual) connection with their worldly life.
