Today, it is an undeniable necessity to evaluate the views of Orientalists on Quranic knowledge. They study Quranic knowledge, including the stories of the prophets, in the form of books and articles. The Italian Roberto Tottoli is one of these Orientalists. In his research, he analyzed the story of Prophet Salih and his people in the Quran and expressed his views on this subject. The present article uses a descriptive-analytical method to critically examine his views on the aforementioned subject. The study of Tutuli's views on Prophet Salih and his people in the Quran demonstrates his mastery of the verses of the Quran. From Tutuli's perspective, the story of Saleh (AS) and the she-camel has no parallel in other religious traditions. His view is due to his lack of understanding of the nature of the miracles of the prophets. He explains that the miracles of the prophets occur by God's command and are performed according to the needs of the time and the demands of its people. In fact, these two principles are what differentiate the miracles of the prophets from each other. According to Tutuli, Prophet Salih was sent with a she-camel from the very beginning of his mission. A careful reflection on the verses of the Quran, narrations and historical sources reveals the groundlessness of this view.
