Abstract
One of the comprehensive challenges of human beings during the history, has been understanding the reality of inspiration, because of its coherence to the world of meaning. It is difficult to have access to it. Although divine prophets endeavored a lot to get across this metaphysical issue up to human’s understanding, the existence of some opportunists or people who couldn’t understand this metaphysical issue correctly and completely, has paved the way for issuance of some definitions contradictory with prophets’ words. This research has tried to investigate the reality of Qurani inspiration from orientalists’ point of view. The result is that there are many differences between Islam’s and orientalists’ views about the reality of inspiration. Orientalists believe that the reality of inspiration is nothing but Torah’s and Bible’s texts taken from Christians while visiting them while there are many clues which shows that Quran is inspirational and has descended from God without interference of any human and some orientalists who seek reality confessed to this very fact. The most extent claim about this is Quran’s derivation from Torah and Bible but there are some reasons which reject the theory of derivation including on the basis of orientalists’ confession, ancientry up to prophet Mohammad’s (peace be upon him) time hadn’t been translated to Arabic language. On the other hand, essence difference and the level of advice in Torah and Quran and their contradictions, not agreeing what is said about prophets in Torah with their aims and also contradictions of advice in Torah and wisdom disagree with derivation theory. Holy Quran has mentioned precisely to the tamperment and distortion of Torah and Bible by their scholars. If our prophet (peace be upon him) had derived Quran from Torah, it wasn’t appropriate to utter anything about Taorah’s being distorted or about their immoral acts or their breaking their pledges. It shouldn’t be any verses in Quran that reprimand them or maledict them. Also people who used verses of Quran intended to interrogate or discover the source of Quran (derivation from Torah and Bible) from Quran’s view while they ignored the verses which reject explicitly Torah’s and Bible’s being the source of Quran and regard this word a big calumny. Instead of regarding the likelihood of derivation of Quran from Torah and Bible, we’d better think that they all are derived from a common source.
