The Holy Qur'an, as an everlasting repository of revealed knowledge, possesses the capacity to be dynamically applied to emerging fields of knowledge, including management. Managerial interpretation of the Qur'an, as one of the contemporary branches of thematic Qur'anic exegesis, seeks to derive strategic managerial principles and models from the sacred text. In recent decades, this field has witnessed the emergence and proliferation of diverse paradigms and interpretive approaches.
Employing a descriptive–analytical approach grounded in ijtihād-based methodology, the present study identifies, classifies, and critically evaluates fourteen prominent paradigms of managerial interpretation of the Qur'an. The findings reveal that each paradigm approaches the Qur'an from distinct epistemological and methodological assumptions, resulting in different scopes, depths, and practical outcomes. While this diversity has enriched the discourse on Islamic management, it has also highlighted the need for a coherent and methodologically rigorous framework capable of preventing theoretical fragmentation and eclecticism.
The study concludes by emphasizing the necessity of integrating the strengths of the existing approaches within a comprehensive, multi-level framework. It further proposes directions for developing a coherent Qur'an-based management system that is both methodologically sound and theoretically integrated.
